NWL REPORT NO. 2101 - Calligraphy for Computers - A V Hershey
U.S. Naval Weapons Laboratory
1 Aug 1967
Abstract: Consideration is given to the possibility of providing a computer and a cathode ray printer with an unlimited repertory of characters. Digitalizations are presented for mathematic, cartographic, and calligraphic characters. The repertory is available to any computer through FORTRAN-IV programming. The latest cathode ray printers are almost adequate for the preparation of mathematical reports. Some progress has been made toward development of a mnemonic code for the recording of a mathematical text on tape.
